FOOD: Our puppies are fed Diamond Naturals All Life Stages Chicken and Rice formula. This food can be feed to dogs their entire life span from the puppy stage through the senior stage. It is a high-quality food that removes the necessity to have multiple formulas for each stage of life.

Your puppy should receive 3/4 cup of food 2-3 x per day for the next 2 months. Then increase to 1 cup twice a day until 1 year of age. At that time you can decrease the amount back to 3/4 cup. This is a general guideline. Some puppies will eat more and some less. If your puppy is not eating all of their food don’t worry. They will eat until full. Rest assured you puppies is getting what they need. If your puppy is acting hungry between feedings then you can increase their food intake by 1/4 cup. If they are begging for treats, this is different than hunger. Be careful not to over feed your puppy. Some dogs will continue to eat until sick and over eating can cause weight and health problems.

If switching foods once you get your puppy home, to prevent diarrhea, mix 1/2 the current formula which we provide with 1/2 of the new food for 3-4 days. Then decrease the amounts of Diamond Naturals to 1/4 for another 3-4 days. You should then be able to switch to the new food completely without issues.
